DESCRIPTION:Gale Wichmann\, Senior Director\, Strategic Partnerships at Amyris\, will be giving a CSB seminar\, “Turning Sustainable Biology into a Sustainable Business: Real Life Lessons from the Synthetic Biology Company Amyris\,” on the Evanston campus. \nAfter 20 years of existence\, Amyris continues to be a leader in the world of synthetic biology.  Amyris has gone from a stary-eyed start-up to a company that has successfully manufactured and commercialized 14 molecules. Along the way we’ve learned\, sometimes painfully\, what it actually takes to successfully commercialize a synthetic biology product.
