Title: Building Biomanufacturing, from Bench Study to Commercialization
Designated as a Biorefining Center of Excellence by the Illinois General Assembly, the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) is a nationally recognized biochemical processing scale-up research facility. Over the past 20 years, NCERC has successfully helped new technologies go from lab study to corn to ethanol industry. In addition, we have helped to develop biopolymer production, waste and biomass to ethanol production, etc.. We have learned that building robust biomanufacturing takes a combination of technology breakthroughs, cost and energy reduction, government support, and constant improvement. We serve as a bridge between lab studies and commercialization, so we are looking for collaborators and students who are interested in joining us.
